I've been so impressed by the staff here. The Executive Director truly cares and while it might not be the newest building, it is clean, and like someone said, a pool/putting green/etc. aren't going to take care of someone, but a great staff will. There are no stairs and it's a smaller community so everyone is on the same floor as the the aides and nurses, so no neglect.
Brookdale Staff at Springdale CARE and it's because their director at that location is an excellent business man, and a very down to earth, caring person. Our interactions with staff when we visit is always pleasant. They truly care about our family member. We've had a unique situation, affecting our billing but they are working it out for us to fix the issue. We had a completely different experience at another place but now we know we have found THE PLACE for our loved one to call home.
When my mother came into the facility she had a sour attitude and they couldn't seem to get through to her. I told them that her "love language" was sarcasm and joking. A couple of the staff started joking with her and she popped out of her shell and almost immediately felt at home. It was amazing what happened when they started speaking her "language". She settled in more easily and felt comfortable. I know this isn't exactly what someone might be looking for, but they met her where she needed to be met, and to me, that means the world : )
I am very happy with Brookdale and how they treat my mother. Yesterday she told me her aide took care of her like she was her mother. As far as rating everything else I will give them all a 4, no one is perfect. I would highly recommend Brookdale to anyone looking for a place for their parents.
Brookdale Springdale was clean. The staff was very nice. You could tell they had activities and an eating area. All those things would be important for my mother. The staff members were very friendly. They looked nice. They treated me very nicely. But I noticed a little bit of clutter in a couple of areas. The atmosphere seemed okay. It seemed fine. It's what I expected. When I first walked in, they were doing some sort of activity, and so I could tell that they were taking care of their clients. The rooms are adequate.
