Nice indoor courtyard meeting space with hair salon, mailboxes, water fountain, library, gym, lounge, craft room, billiards, TV room, and other gathering space. Outdoor patio tables and rocking chairs. Regular planned social events. Daily informal meet-ups with community members, their pets, staff, and visitors. Dog area outside.
My mom was a resident of Homestead Village. The building itself was a great little community. They always reach out to each other and make you feel at home. It was like a little studio-looking apartment and very cozy. The upkeep was pretty good. They had a library, a workout room to work out, an art room where they could go in and do art, a little library where they could work on the computers and stuff, or read. They had a beauty salon where they went to get their hair and nails done. When we first came into it, the staff let us believe a lot of stuff was included, amenities, and like you go…

They had a library, a workout room to work out, an art room where they could go in and do art, a little library where they could work on the computers and stuff, or read. They had a beauty salon where they went to get their hair and nails done. When we first came into it, the staff let us believe a lot of stuff was included, amenities, and like you go out to do stuff, and it wasn't like that. You have to sign up or pay extra. I'll have to give that person a two, but when I was leaving, the person who had come in, then it was taken over, she was a five. She was the owner. She reached out, and she's very much concerned. A lot of the stuff that they said were activities were not always on par. They'll say they're having this on this day, and then they wouldn't do it, or maybe they didn't have somebody to teach the class or something. It wasn't all put together. They included your rent and cable, which they have like a box deal with a home set, making it affordable.
The staff are helpful and friendly. I looked over their other location and liked the amenities that the 2 locations have. They have a Library, a Fitness area, a Beauty Salon, a place to take their pets and several other facilities. I haven't been able to use them as I have had a lot of pain but I would like to play Bingo and meet up with people to play cards and do other things that are posted on the board.
Love my apartment. However, a few different floor plans are available but was not explained. Also additional charges for view 1st. 2nd or third floor charges and apt on corner of building not fully explained until you picked apt. Only utility you pay is electric, everything else is in rent. Building is not very secure. No mgr on site and sometimes door are not secure. Fire alarms go off in the middle of night for no reason and last a few minutes to a few hours. Not what I would consider active 55 and over. Aides, therapists and caregivers in out out all day. Very few residents participate in any activities.
My sons chose this facility for me because they knew I would love the security door features, it keeps me safe. I would tell others looking to make sure you tour an apartment on each floor. They show the first floor apartments only. Make sure you can look at 2nd and 3rd floor also. They are smaller.
I love it there, the office staff isn't very friendly, I would have to rate them a 2 but everything else including the residents is definitely a 5 if not more!! The residents are very friendly and great. They make it like a family, really caring about each other. We're just like a big family!!! They even put up with my orniness!! It's all in fun. Love them all!!!
So far I haven't met many of the people here. I'm unpacking and treating so.e health problems that I unexpectedly had occur. I didn't have a bed so I was sleeping g in a modified lazyboy and got swollen ankles and feet Once I get my problems taken care of I expect I will have an enjoyable time as they have a library, fitness, a place to do crafts, and other things. There is a large area where you can socialize and play games, cards, and bingo . I have some tips when packing, mark what is being moved and where it is to go. Not everything that I packed made it here, but alor that I didn't want did.
The staff here at Homestead Village of Blacklick are friendly, not much interaction with them though. There is no housekeeping of the apartment, but the hallways seem well maintained. They have had no contact with family, none has been needed. Overall, it is very nice. There are high school kind of like clichés that are hard to penetrate, but that's normal with groups of people. My apartment seems to be warm most of the time. Even if outside temperatures were single digits, I never used the heat. Nice place, safe, I would recommend it to someone who is independent and does not rely on others.
