3.6 · 16 reviewsMy sister is in Cranberry Park, part of New Albany Rehabilitation Center. They're like in the same building. She's trying to live in an assisted living. Basically, she just stays in her room most of the time and watches television. She's liking all the people that work there, and they've been friendly to her. They treat me probably like all the other visitors. I haven't done the food, but she's been satisfied with it. It seems to be very clean. She has sort of a big room. In the middle of it is a wall. My 54 year old brother had a stroke. The only consistent rehabilitation provided was walking. The stroke left his right arm and hand paralyzed and his speech impaired. There isn’t any charted data provided to his family to address his progress. During my daily visits meals aren’t given on a schedule to prevent hunger.
Great nursing staff and in house PT/OT. Doctors visit frequently. Accommodations are very nice and surrounding property is great. They have been taken lots of precautions to deter coronavirus while enabling visitation.

My loved stayed at New Albany Gardens. The place looks okay, but don't be fooled. We had to beg the nurse to call the paramedics. The nurse proceeded to apologize to the paramedics stating that it was not an emergency call. As it turned out, they overdosed our loved one and the ER had to give our loved one NARCAN. The nurse that night happened to be the "nurse of the month". The next instance occurred when we told the nurse manager that we thought our loved one had a UTI. The nurse manager dismissed it and a day or so later we had to beg the nurse to call the paramedics again when our loved one was unresponsive. As it turned out, our loved one turned septic due to a UTI that should have been treated. The nurse in the hospital ICU also told us that the ER had to give our loved one NARCAN again. After going through septic shock our loved survived, but was never the same again suffering from permanent damage. Nurse Patty is not nice.
If I could give them ten stars, I would. My sister and I have no complaints at all. From the second we arrived to the moment we left with our mother almost two weeks later it has been the best. She felt safe, secure, and loved it. We took her out on a little ride and she could not wait to get back to her room. She has had a pretty rough 85 days being in and out of hospitals and other rehab facilities that were lower than below the lowest low for facilities. I wish we had found this one the first time around. The whole atmosphere is very homey and calm. They have bright call lights above each room and they have signage that shows that at the nurse’s station which room needs assistance. Wild turkeys, deer, beautiful places for family to sit inside and outside. It has been impressive from day 1 and I could go on and on, but I do not have enough room. Our mother was taken care of just like we would have and we felt at ease during the day knowing she was there. They care, truly cared about her and helping her get back on her feet at the highest level they could help her get to. We’ve sadly taken her to other facilities in the area and were disappointed beyond belief. Not at New Albany Rehab. I hope she NEVER has to need that type of care again, but if she does, she is definitely going there.

I wish we had found this one the first time around. Dr. Deneen is the epitome of professionalism and he really does care about the residents! He introduced himself within 10 minutes of her being there. He saw her almost every day. Every day. The nurses are AMAZING!! One night I was leaving from my mom's and saw 3 sitting around one of the tables having dinner with a resident. They asked how her day was and what she had done. Ami came in and hugged my mom and sat down beside her and told her how much she was going to miss her. That is what you want to see in a facility you are leaving your loved one in. Beth had to call me to set up a care conference and the first sentence out of her mouth on my voicemail was that this was a non-emergency call. Now that may not seem like much, but when you are on pins and needles because your loved one has been very sick and has ups and downs for months; a phone call from the facility they are in usually is an emergency. She really did not have to say that is my point. However, she did and it was very much appreciated. The whole atmosphere is very homey and calm. Thank you very much to: Kristin, Rebekah, Lorraine, Latoya, Kayla, Dr. Deneen, Cheryl, Annalynn, Joe, Liann, Judy, Cathy, Miriam, Ami, Brian (OT), Jeremy, Brandy, Katie, Jasmine, Tammy, and Beth. Each of you made the experience for our mom; Mary-Donna the best she has had during her whole ordeal since January 21, 2019. You treated her like you'd treat your own loved one. No words can express our appreciation for that.
I was very disappointed in this place. I would Never recommend it to Anyone. It is not very clean and the staff , basically the aides , are overworked and don't answer call buttons promptly. I waited for over an hour one night. I was there for rehab after knee surgery. I had physical therapy but , other than that, no one had time to help me walk the halls. I had to ask for fresh water. Nightly medication is not given at any scheduled time. There were night when I didn't get my meds until 11 pm, 12am, or later. I was very uncomfortable there and never go there again under any circumstances! Some of the aides were very nice and others not so much. Some didn't even know how to put on my post-surgical leg pumps. There's no excuse for that! Don't go there!!!
New Albany Gardens was very clean. Some of the staff members were not so friendly, but other than that, it was really good. The pricing was reasonable, but it's not too homey as it gives you more of a clinical feeling.
