0 Stars if I could!!! Please think twice before putting your loved one here, we were limited on our options for where my sister could go due to age & medication regimen so finally getting an acceptance from sanctuary seemed to be great. She made it all of 3 days before me & my mother personally had to call the squad to transport her to the emergency room because we couldn’t get no one to come in the room to have them make the call or even address the situation. 3 days in and my sister had not been washed up & is unable to wash her self as she is bed bound with limited mobility, leaving her at the very end of her bed for hours with no call light, forcing her to have to holler out for help. Leaving her to urinate in briefs although she if fully continent because “they can’t put her on a bedpan everytime she has to pee”. One word UNACCEPTABLE. We came in today and noticed she was very clammy & red we asked for her temperature to be taken & they said they did not have a thermometer. They had not taken a set of vitals on my sister the whole time she had been there despite her showing signs and symptoms of something being wrong. A rash from her neck to mid back & her incision that was oozing yellow/green puss. Upon EMS arrival she was found to be hypotensive with her condition worsening on the ride to the hospital arriving with a bp of 67/36. End concussion is that she was found to be in septic shock & also have cellulitis. Moral of the story sending your loved ones here is a ultimate death wish if they can not physically do for themselves. Rude staff & facility is extremely disgusting smells like they clean the walls with urine. Upon arrival there was poop found on her ceiling & also blinds. Very unacceptable for a place where we are supposed to trust to take care of our loved ones.
I cannot begin to describe the Hell my Mom went through in that disgusting rat hole of a place. She had bruises, crying and pleading we took her out and straight to the Hospital....she had a severe UTI. I won't go into anymore detail, but if you love and care about your family, don't even consider that place. We were blinded by their lies....when the truth came out, it was horrible. My Mom has since recovered, but still thinks about the nightmares she lived in there. Stonespring in Vandalia isn't much better, I k ow I was there with my Husband.
I had a wonderful experience for 9 1/2 months. The rooms are beautiful, food was not exceptional but I always enjoyed my meals. I was always well cared for. I never felt neglected. Nursing staff was very good.
Unfortunately, not a good company. The admin does not care.
Zero stars the Administrator, DON and BOM are all a piece of work! They don’t answer nor return phone calls and give the run around! The Administrator is also a smart ellic and rude!
Awful, Awful, Awful and incompetent state helping you in anyway saying there are 0 problems when my mother's room had bed bugs and yet not one person reported to family! Putting her in a room with no bed wow! Use to trust this place with my mother! Unfortunately my mother passed away but that's a whole another story! 0 stars if I could!
This place is a horrible place if you care about your loved ones. They neglect the patients constantly, they do not give proper medical treatment and they will hold your loved ones under threat of sending state just to collect more money. They basically held our loved one threatening state until we finally had enough. Nothing came out of it and they just wanted to milk more money. This place should be close immediately and hopefully the state follows our complaint
I was at the Sanctuary for over two months (August - mid October) for rehab of a broken leg. The therapy staff was awesome and some of the nurses and STNA's were amazing. The wound nurse and acting DON were incompetent. I had an infection and they said that it was healing just fine. It was seeping more than it should have and the fluid was brown. They said this for over a month. I ended up in the hospital and had to have surgery to get the infection out of my bone, joint and tissue. I now have to deal with IV and oral antibiotics for the next year. I also have to have a PICC line and have blood drawn every week for the next year. If the infection doesn't go away I could loose my leg. It is extremely painful and could have been avoided if the Sanctuary would have done cultures on my leg or called my surgeon to let her know about my leg.
