Special thank you to Junior our waiter he was so kind and attentive. Thank you Pat for helping us celebrate my grandmother 84th birthday. Thank you Alex our chef for feeding us.
Story Point’s kitchen staff does a wonderful job catering for our city events. The food is always well-prepared, presented nicely, and ready on time. The staff is professional, courteous, and easy to work with. We appreciate the consistency and care they put into every event. Highly recommend for any catering needs
We had the absolute pleasure of attending the Mother’s Day Family & Friend Dinner at StoryPoint Shaker Heights and all I can say is WOW. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we stepped into a five star restaurant mixed with the warmth of family. The decorations were beautiful, elegant, and filled with so much love and attention to detail. You could truly feel the heart behind this event. Our group included my mother, her sister, my two cousins, and two close friends, and every single one of us left talking about how incredible the evening was. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was prepared with care and flavor that honestly rivaled upscale fine dining restaurants. Chef Greg deserves tremendous recognition because the meal was unforgettable from start to finish. What truly made the night magical was the staff. Sierra and Tracy gave us one of the best dining experiences we have ever had anywhere. Her energy, kindness, professionalism, and genuine joy lit up the entire evening. We completely fell in love with her London, England accent and the way she made every person at the table feel special. She captured moments for us with her camera, laughed with us, connected with our family, and made the whole night feel personal instead of transactional. That level of hospitality is rare. The directors and entire team treated us like honored guests instead of visitors. My mother could not stop talking about how appreciated and celebrated she felt. For an assisted living community to create an experience this elevated, warm, and memorable says everything about the culture and leadership at StoryPoint Shaker Heights. This was not just a dinner. It was an experience filled with love, elegance, joy, and community. Five stars is honestly not enough. Thank you to Sierra, Tracy, and Chef Greg, the directors, and the entire StoryPoint team for giving our family memories we will never forget. Happy Mother’s Day indeed. 🌸
Wanted to show appreciation for the tremendous help my family has received and the seamless transition process and current care for my uncle. Even before my uncle received his discharge from the hospital, Katie Auber, the admission director for StoryPoint reached out, worked very diligently and quickly with the hospital to cover his medical, physical and emotional needs for his comfort and care. It was a Friday afternoon for his discharge so the concern was availability and care and Katie and her staff prepared an entire room and she personally purchased new items and prepared his bedding and amenities for his comfort. Storypoint is currently putting a smile on my family's face and heart and relieved a tremendous amount of pressure and stress off of me and my family.
I had a tour of StoryPoint at Shaker Heights and I was very impressed with the facility, it is beautiful. I particularly liked the amenities available within the facility. The memory care unit is well laid out with the nurses station within a central location.
Ask for Kaycee Popham. She knows senior living very well.
Absolutely beautiful place! The tour with Kaycee was very informative. Highly recommend this community!
This is a beautiful building with awful staffing and a revolving door of administration. No one is held accountable. My father experienced a year of inadequately trained and insufficiently staffed caregiver personnel issues in the Memory Care Unit culminating with an unwitnessed fall (following a fall 1 week prior from a recliner in his room which he didn't remember how to un-recline) causing a broken hip from which he succumbed 2 days later. I had to hire a private day-time caregiver because I was concerned he would not be fed, hydrated, turned, or toileted adequately, and luckily Hospice was present for his demise. If you are considering this facility, ensure that they have an Executive Director and Wellness Director who have been there longer than one month, and ask what their caregiver staffing is and get a feel for the turnover. See if they have resolved the issue of allowing entry into the MC - a caregiver had to be present to use a key fob to let visitors in or out. It could take up to 8 minutes. When my father was there, the activities often consisted of just sitting in front of a TV with inappropriate programming on, often with no caregiver present (they were likely tending to someone in their room, but there was no way to call them). There were multiple incidents where I was the only one sitting with them and would have to instruct one of the other residents to sit down because she wasn't using her walker. I personally donated a bingo set (which they used only rarely, at the beginning) and multiple games, and I would read aloud to the residents because I was so frustrated at the lack of activities. Be sure to ask to look at an activities calendar and make sure you can tell what they are doing on the Assisted Living side versus the Memory Care side. My father's missing hearing aid was found on the floor in the bathroom near the toilet after being AWOL for 6 days - made me wonder how often the bathroom was being cleaned. If your loved one wears compression stockings, keep a close eye on them - the staff often did not apply them correctly which would cause sores. I visited my father 6 days a week (my son went on the other day) and spent 65% of my time talking to new administration or complaining about issues, rather than being with my dad. It was exasperating and exhausting. I would not recommend this facility as it was as of April 30, 2025. If you are considering it, be sure to do your due diligence.
