Unfortunately, the level of staff training and approach to the residents was not what we thought it would be. There were a few great staff, but felt a level of hostility from the nursing leadership that led us to move our parent to another facility. Far less important to us was the quality of the food. We selected The Winfield specifically for the level of care in assisted living - this was very important to us. Unfortunately, the level of staff training and approach to the residents was not what we thought it would be. There were a few great staff, but felt a level of hostility from the nursing leadership that led us to move our parent to another facility. Far less important to us was the quality of the food. While we appreciated the willingness to deviate from the menu if a resident wanted something else, the food was pretty underwhelming. We very much appreciate the challenges in staffing and running an assisted living facility and meeting the needs of the residents and their families. We deeply appreciated the care given by some of the very dedicated staff."
Nicole , head of Sales and Marketing has been very accommodating to our need and very patient. The building is clean and the residents all look happy and cared for. The activities look fun..you can follow them on Facebook.
Going to Winfield was the best decision we could've made. During the almost 2 1/2 years our mom was here, she received the the best - & caring & friendly - care. This staff goes beyond the "usual", & it shows. Communication was also excellent. Can't say enough, about this outstanding place!

They were smaller and seemed homier than some other places, there was no real odor when we toured and for the money the space was a lot bigger than other places we looked at.
I love the fact that they have church & bible study. The people are very friendly. They have a lot of different activities to offer. The janitors are great. My experience with the house keepers , they could do better with the cleaning.
The aids and nursing staff I've interacted with are friendly and patient. The dining room servers are patient with my friend. My friend likes the afternoon activities. And the morning exercise. They keep the common areas nice and there is regular carpet cleaning in those areas. The landscaping outside is always nice looking. I think it's basically all canned food. Not sure about the meats. Both my friends there say the food is not great. For an alternative to what ever they have for dinner one night is hot dogs or baloney sandwiches. Not what I would call quality food for the elderly. I was there for a Christmas dinner last year but I'm sorry I can't remember what they fixed... They don't have a menu to choose from. But they do publish the meals by the week for all three meals I believe. At least for lunch and dinner.
The Winfield is a wonderful community. The whole team, Joann, Anne, Nicole & nursing staff and aides make the community feel like a home. They truly care for their residents, families and staff. It has been a pleasure to work with them. I highly recommend!
We are very pleased with The Winfield - friendliness of staff, cleaning of room, food is very good. [name removed] has fun with the activities. We would most definitely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far. [name removed] on the staff does a great job making the residents feeling welcome. All the ladies at the front desk greet everyone as we come in. Activities director makes it fun for everyone!
