If it wasn’t for our family checking outside her window and her phone she would have died. All the patients ended up over in the skilled unit side. She has been there until just recently. The care has become awful! Watch your belongings because they will be gone! There is only a few there that actually care and do a good job and they were there before. These new aides will sit at the desk on their phones while our loved ones lights are on to go to the bathroom. It’s a shame…

Assisted living was fine for our mom until Covid hit and they shut the doors on everybody and discontinued their care. If it wasn’t for our family checking outside her window and her phone she would have died. All the patients ended up over in the skilled unit side. She has been there until just recently. The care has become awful! Watch your belongings because they will be gone! There is only a few there that actually care and do a good job and they were there before. These new aides will sit at the desk on their phones while our loved ones lights are on to go to the bathroom. It’s a shame this place went so far downhill Also if your loved one walks they won’t be. They put everyone in a wheelchair chair so nobody is up walking around.
I have lived at Vancrest since December 2025 and I am now living on the assisted living wing and I love living here. I enjoy the people and have become close with many of the people in the whole facility. They have great activities and a wonderful beauty salon. They management are very kind and helpful. I'm so glad that I chose Vancrest as my new home.

I’ve had a few family members in other nursing homes in the past BUT Silvercrest is the only ONE I would want to be a resident. The staff is responsive, compassionate and they love their job and the people they care for on a daily basis. Silvercrest is very clean and well maintained, in fact it feels like a home. The outdoor area is beautiful and very relaxing. The meals remind me of home made and are very delicious. The activities that they provide are wonderful. Whether you need short term care, long term care or skilled nursing Silvercrest is home for you. Stop in or call to schedule a visit, you won’t be disappointed!

Our mom was there recently for rehab. The nurses, the doctor and the rehab staff all did an excellent job. They were always very willing to answer any questions that we had and were very kind and understanding with our mom. Thanks, Van Crest team. We truly appreciate it.
Vancrest of Urbana has been a godsend! Both my mom and step father moved into Vancrest in January (one in Skilled Nursing and one in Assisted Living). The staff have been AMAZING! On the nursing side, I'd like to give extreme kudos to Allison, the lead nurse and the first face we met, and Wendy, the social worker. They both have gone above and beyond their duties to make the transition smooth and to assure this out-of-town daughter all is well. On the Assisted Living side, Sharlon, the director, has worked tirelessly to help my mom settle in, this includes many phone calls, emails, meetings, and just spending time! I'd also like to shout out Tristan, the kindest person who helped me after hours when mom was in a meltdown. I count them ALL angels!! I could never have imagined a better place for my parents!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
