Allow me to speak about how wonderful Washington Square is. My father, who is a veteran, has been there for a little over a year now and we have not had any issues. The entire staff from administration to nurses to the aides have been top notch. While our families goal is to make sure we bring my father home, we know that we do not have the proper training and education to provide the care and need on the consistent basis at home that he is getting at Washington Square. This place has been such a blessing that there was a moment when we thought we were going to have to bring him home or send him to another facility because of another diagnosis that we were told about during a trip to the hospital, from the patient advocate at the local hospital, Washington Square did not have the proper training to house such a patient. While my father was in the hospital, my mother and I were looking for other options (even though we did not want to leave Washington Square) only to find out a couple days later, unbeknown to us, Washington Square took the initiative to bring in an experience medical trainer (a subject matter expert) on this particular topic to train the entire staff just to ensure that my father would come back to Washington Square, a place he has been familiar with. I can tell you that my experience with Washington Square and that of my families have been nothing but above and beyond anything we could have imagined it would be. We are there almost every day visiting my dad to make sure he is in good spirits and if he needs anything. We do not view Washington Square as just a "place" that is taking care of my father it is a beacon of hope for us that he will get better and he will one day come home to us. And as for the staff, the staff is not just staff or individuals there doing a job, they have become an extension of our family and we are so thankful for each and everyone of them. WE do not know where we would be without Washington Square and its Staff!
I wouldn't put my worst enemy there or my dead dog .
They never answer their phones! Been trying to get ahold of my father for his phone goes to voicemail so I call the nurses station & nobody answers been trying for days now!
I'd give it a 3.5-3.8...The in house staff has been wonderful & are truly compassionate individuals! As all LTC staff are overworked and underpaid everywhere, they do the very best they can with what they have! The resident rooms could be deep cleaned with some elbow grease more frequently. With that being said, its the rooms with long term residents who tend to hoard food & belongings who need the rooms cleared scrubbed and put back nicely. I rated 3.7 bc of the cleanliness & bc there's "NOT NICE" Staff who clearly hate their jobs!
I love how they are always helping families out and doing respite stays for their loved ones.
The staff gives their all to facility and residents.
