Please do not believe anyone in these reviews. This place is NASTY, very unprofessional. For this to be a “Skilled facility” The staff have NO SKILLS when it comes to communication to performing a job. It’s very depressing inside due to the lack of lighting. Ceiling was leaking that that took 2-3 MONTHS to fix. Staff are rude they don’t speak, don’t greet the guest, nor act like they want to perform their duties they signed up for. State board needs to be sent into this place IMMEDIATELY. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone !! even if it was the last “Skilled facility” on the planet.…

If you care deeply for your love one, please put them in a facility where staffed love them just as much as you. P.S. if you have an open wound on any part of the body DO NOT review this place for care. Nurses/ Doctor (because it’s 1 doctor that comes ONCE a month) DO NOT treat wound care the way it’s supposed to be treated. If this was the last place on earth I wouldn’t be there.
My father has calciphylaxis which caused open wounds on his legs and foot. He was staying long-term in Aurora Manor, where he received wound care— dressing and bandage changing consistently. Aurora Manor neglected my father so much that MAGGOTS infested the wounds on his foot. The infection caused by the maggots effectively killed the blood-supply in his leg and foot. His leg is now amputated. Aurora Manor neglected my father so terribly, that maggots infested the wound on his foot. Aurora Manor MAIMED my father. If you care about your family members, PLEASE do not send your family to this…

This place is less than good. In some departments. The food is less than great.. The cable company that they use suck. It freezes all the time even when it is not raining. The new administration is improving. Paul the new guy is doing the very best he can. The new secretary that works upfront answering the phones is great Social services does not social with the residents. The stars are lazy and don't do nothing at night. Most if not all the nurses are wonderful. The Dialysis Department is wonderful. Very compassionate, understanding.
This is a nice place but it does need updating. New blinds and the rooms need painting. The lunch room needs to to made a little more cozy. And the maintenance seems to be slow at repairing. Seems like they do not want to spend money on making it a little more of a homey feeling.
this is not a good place to be your loved ones the staff is rude they will not give showers cold food no clean bedding telling the patients to clean up thier own mess when they are sick the one aide she did not want to do her job very disrespecful when you a patient puts the call light on they did not come they have to wait for hours before someone comes in the rooms are not clean
After visiting several facilities across Geauga and Portage County, Aurora Manor stood out as the clear best choice. Jason, the director, was exceptionally knowledgeable — frankly, he gave us a more thorough and helpful overview of our hospice care options than the nurses and social worker at the hospital where our mother was being treated. The facility's layout was something we noticed right away. Every corridor is visible from the central nurses' station, which gave us real peace of mind — other places we toured had maze-like layouts that left us worried about a loved one wandering. The location is also ideal, with easy access for family coming from Cleveland, Akron, or Youngstown. The nursing staff were consistently sympathetic and attentive throughout our time there. The building itself isn't brand-new, but it is extremely well-maintained and clean — exactly what matters. If you're navigating this difficult process for a family member, we'd encourage you to make Aurora Manor part of your search. We're glad we did.
My Mom has been here 2 1/2 years. The staff has been great! Even though there seems to be a lot of turnover, they hire the best help. We have brought in out of state friends and they all have commented on how clean the place is. The staff is small, but very good with the jobs they do. It might not be the newest facility, but I think it's the best in Aurora. Keep up the great work.
First and foremost, these reviews come from some of the residents whom they favor. As well as Jennifer, who’s HR. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! THEY NEGLECT PATIENTS! LARRY, the DON, doesn’t care about the residents here at all. God forbid you have complaints, there’s no one to reach. No one ever returns calls and they don’t answer the phone at the nurses station. One of my loved ones were here and they failed to change her, her wounds smelled awful, and the aides are very lazy— especially at night. They leave them sitting up in a chair all day without changing briefs. The facility smells awful in the hallways. The current nurses are rude. They only care when state is coming or if state is in the building. Other than that, they don’t give a damn. It’s only about money with them AND ITS OVERPRICED JUST FOR THERAPY TO ONLY COME TWICE A WEEK FOR 10 MINUTES IF THAT.
