A beautiful, home like environment that encourages a family like atmosphere between residents and staff alike. Activities are amazing. Food is fresh and delicious every day.
Great lower level staff, Sadly overshadowed by insurmountable ignorance from senior leaders, abysmal care giver ratios of 3 caregivers for the entire AL side of roughly 80 beds.
Bickford of Lancaster is a wonderful community. The food is great, the activities are always fun and engaging, and the staff is incredibly caring. You can feel how much they truly value the residents.
My grandmother Karen Martin is staying here, they had us pay extra because she tried leaving the facility a couple times so forced us to upgrade and spend around $11,000 out of pocket a month to send her to a different special department where they’re suppose to be keeping a closer eye on her. Instead they still allow her to escape, so instead of having someone watch her closely they just drug her up and now she’s so tired that she’s gained over 80 pounds in less than 6 months. She never walks around like she use to. The nurses there hardly ever email back my parents and if it were up to me I would’ve pulled her out of that place months ago. They can’t transfer because her insurance has finally kicked in after her entire life savings is now drained completely. The only times they reach out to my parents is to try to sell them on some special treatments with their 1 on 1 doctor that goes to the facility instead of them having to drive her to her preferred doctor. I assume most of these reviews are fake because this place is the last place I’d want to send a family member. You’d be better off just sending them to a free nursing home. She also has doctor appointments that they’re not taking her to. She had an appointment with a neurologist and of course she couldn’t remember to go and the nurses glaze over it. We emailed them about it and got no response. If it gets worse, we may be forced to take further action as now this all has to be documented.
What I liked the least at Bickford of Lancaster was the living quarters and the activities for memory care patients. The staff who conducted the tour was great. However, I wasn't completely happy with what I saw of the care being provided to the patients as we visited the location. Also, the memory care unit wasn't separated enough from the assisted living.
We were attracted to them because of the location and just the homey feel. I would recommend to others! I would like to add that [name removed] has been wonderful and so caring and helpful!
A Place for Mom found Bickford of Lancaster and recommended it to us and we visited and they were very helpful. All staff are very kind and professional. Everyone was polite . Very expensive
They keep family looped in on all care and changes. The food was great initially but they got a new chef and now grandpa complains the food is horrible and always smothered or covered with cheese or gravy or something. I would absolutely recommend Bickford of Lancaster to anyone!
