We had the occasion to need to find assisted living arrangements. In this process, I have talked to social workers, friends, church, and the council on aging, and I had no clue that this kind of service was even offered, so I wanted to share about my experience. At the beginning of our search I posted to Mentor's Community Facebook page to gain help and recommendations of assisted living facilities in the area that people had first hand experience with because we had the need for Assisted Living placement. I really appreciated all of those recommendations from the FB community. But the leads didn't take us anywhere. We ran into some financial roadblocks with assisted livings in the Mentor area and so we had to expand our search. All of this became very time consuming and overwhelming very quickly. I was trying to find out requirements for assisted livings and prices etc. and really getting no where fast! Then along came Heather from Blue Dot Cares to help us. I didn't even know this kind of service existed and so I wanted to let anybody that is facing the placement search and decision to know that Heather is here to help. She's unbelievable. I am not related to her at all in any way. I am just a highly satisfied client of hers!!!! She is a breath of fresh air in the emotional, overwhelming, and time consuming elder care placement process. She's very detail oriented, kind, compassionate, meets with you to find out what your needs are, and reviews your financial situation and then pairs that up with possible facilities. She makes the arrangements for tours and then accompanies you, asking great questions that you may have forgotten to ask (as she knows your needs and hot buttons.) I can't say enough good things about this service and Heather. She's been a Godsend in this process and has worked tirelessly for us.
