The first time I walked into Brookdale, it felt like home. I am so happy my mom moved in there. She is eating better then ever and getting more exercise and activities than ever. We are very happy with the move.
Our families experience with Brookdale has been phenomenal! I am so thankful that I chose them to take care of my husband. They not only took care of my husband; but, myself and my children as well. Angie Rumer also kept in contact with me for a year before I moved my husband to Brookdale. She contacted me monthly to see how my husband was doing and to see if we needed anything. She even offered to bring my husband and I a meal. Penny, who is always on the run, also stopped and took the time whenever I had a question or just needed to talk. The management team at Brookdale is very caring and this is an excellent assisted living option!
Brookdale is a superior community whether you are looking for assisted living or memory care. The staff is compassionate, educated and courteous. Longevity with staff is to be recognized as we seldom see this in any community. Brookdale is worth the 20 minute drive from Toledo for quality of care and management that goes over the top for their residents and staff.
I would have appreciated a printed out list of staff contact numbers. Instead of having to hunt those down or call the front desk. It is very clean. most the staff is friendly, a few are grumpy. care is good. Mom has dementia and tells me they don't answer her call button. I take that with a grain of salt. I highly doubt they enjoy the call button prompts. The staff is responsive. The food is a 5! Very good and a variety. Kudos to the chef and staff. I feel value is comparable and a firm believer you get what you pay for. We pay a fair amount and feel we satisfied.
You need to be active with your family members care, but give the staff time to know them.
Many members of the Brookdale Bowling Green staff are naturals at what they do and provide loving, professional care.
