Wife got sent there after lower leg amputation...they forced her out in 2 1/2 weeks...we found out later they told the insurance company that she had a wound on her foot so they naturally quit paying..then they made us arrange for our own transportation to get her home, they gave us a list to call and the only one I could get was a guy from WVa. who basically used his own vehicle that was no way equipped for such transport..got her in the vehicle with the help of a couple of nurse's/aids...he drove her to our house where I met him and she fell on the ground when me and just him tried to put…

On several different occasions I filled complaints about poor quality work from aids and nurses. Nothing was ever done. No follow was done. My complaints feel on deaf ears. Very poor housekeeping standards. All they care about is money
All staff members have taken very good care of my father.
Staff does a great job of caring of patients. Very friendly both in person and on the phone.
The PT was great. A few of the nurses were rude. I called one night to have the nurse check on my dad’s (Jack Michaux) foot and he never did. The doctor stopped by on the day my father was brought in to introduce himself. He was supposed to see him the following Thursday and never showed up. He wrote in my dad’s chart that he saw him and talked with the family. He never stepped foot in my dad’s room except the first day when he said hi. It makes me angry that he would blatantly lie and put it in my dad’s chart. I’m sure he submitted the fee he charges for doing nothing and I’m sure it happens with the other Patients as well. My father was there for 11 days and never had one visit with a doctor. I had asked 3 times if a podiatrist could come and cut my dad’s toenails. He had gone into septic shock and I was afraid he would get an infection if we didn’t have his toenails cut. They were very long. We also had to ask them to shower my father. He had a pic line in for a while but had it removed and still didn’t get a shower until we asked. The refrigerator in my dad’s room was freezing food. We had to throw away a good bit of stuff. I had to ask FOUR times if they could have it fixed or bring him another one. I said that I would take it from another room so he could have one that worked. Finally they brought in another one. The first day he got to Carriage Inn I asked the aide if I could get him some ice water. I told her that I hated to bother them every time. She took me to show me where it was at along with the ice. We got our own up until 3 or 4 days before he left. My sister and I came in one day and the door was shut with a sign on it saying Employees only. My younger sister walked to the nurses station to ask for water and caught the 2 nurses talking about her. The aides were great and all but 2 nurses were very nice. They acted like we were bothering them when we had a question. I’m sure the staff was glad to see us go. We were there everyday with my dad. He’s 91 years old. Sadly you have to be an advocate to get good care. On the day of his last PT the therapist came in 2 different times to get my dad and he still wasn’t dressed. My sister and I finally dressed him ourselves and took him into the bathroom so he could brush his teeth and comb his hair before he went to PT. Either the aide or the nurse would put my dad in a wheelchair and leave him there for sometimes 2 hours. He either laid in his bed or sat in a wheelchair. When we had our meeting with the Social Worker I asked if we could get a recliner for his room. If it wasn’t for us asking he would have never gotten one in his room. You can’t leave a person that’s 91 years old in a wheelchair for hours. That’s not good care.
Food was terrible. Nurses and aides and therapists were very nice.
Everyone was wonderful
If your family member has dementia do not let them go here! They will get booted out quickly!
