Darst's Private Care Home

I highly recommend this facility. They did an excellent job with my Aunt last year when she became terminal. I recently had to admit my uncle to Darst, their care is beyond special. It seems more like a family, than like a Nursing home. It's very clean, everything is organized, it doesn't have a terrible smell. The staff is very friendly and they treat their patients as if they were their own family members. I have never been in such a well organized, well run home to assist people who can't take care of themselves. It's definitely worth the money and I do not worry about anything because I trust them 100%.

We brought our dad to Darst when we could no longer manage his care on our own. It was a very difficult decision to give control over to someone else and feel he would receive the same level of care as at home. The folks at Darst have quickly become like family. We’ve never experienced a care facility like this before. Each and every staff member treat the residents with the utmost respect and kindness. No one ever gets impatient or snippy with the residents. These folks have a calling and it’s evident they work here because they love taking care of people. The facility is absolutely spotless and everyone receives home cooked meals. The individual care is amazing. I can’t say enough about Darst. We are so grateful and blessed to have been able to have our dad stay. It’s where My sisters and I want to come should we need care some day.

My grandmother was a resident at Darst Adult Group Home, some years ago. I'm sorry to say that I only visited her while she was there a few times, but my impression was fairly positive. She had her own room, which looked just like a bedroom in any home, and could come and go as she pleased. She didn't choose to go anywhere but I I would see an older gentleman take a walk every day (I lived close to the Darst Home). I never had much contact with the employees at that time, but my grandmother was clean and seemed to be well taken care of. I do remember there being a "nursing home" smell, one I've smelled at many nursing homes thought I don't know why that is. I would have scored this place higher if my sister had not worked there for a short time and was not treated very well. I do know they have a VERY high turnover rate, and in my opinion, if you can't treat your employees well, there is something wrong.
