Seem like a very nice place to take care elderly people

My Mom has been a resident in skilled nursing for a year. Mom is well taken care of, and she seems happy in her new home. The entire staff is amazing and always available for questions. While no nursing home is ever perfect I would not hesitate to recommend Elizabeth Scott to anyone looking for skilled nursing care for their loved one

Friday Toledo hospital said the catheter could come out they Scott rehab wanted to keep it in almost a whole extra week. Not acceptable. When admitted nurse said they have physical therapy week and weekend we were excited to hear that. Friday they said no therapy there Christmas party must be more important than patient health. We were told also no weekend therapy at all so he was supposed to sit in there from Friday till Monday no therapy we were not even allowed to get him up and walk the hallway to give them therapy as he was able to walk with assistance. Gave us a hard time about releasing him into our own care even though we are fully handicapped accessible. We finally were able to have him released without the catheter after arguing with them He's getting more therapy at home walking around his own house than anything they were doing in there

Very bad care, was fine and told just needed some more rehab then after they all said going home a week later something happened they didnt know the cause and covered it up never sent to hospital 3 wks later gone. The feeling we have is ran out of money and then the care was not happening we know a bedsore was present but no one will say if it was cared for. Dont let it happen to someone you care about they (the home) also involved a trustee and if she dont like you she ignores your concerns and ignored the patient was supposed to be in her care.

My 92 year old mother went to Elizabeth Scott for rehab following surgery related to a fall, then returned back to Elizabeth Scott after a second fall. My husband and I were very happy with her care. ALL of the staff: nurses, nursing assistants, dietary, social worker, the person in the business office, all were caring, professional and supportive. Everyone went above and beyond to be there for her and for us.

I was here, unfortunately, for a short time in 2019 after having surgery at St. Luke's. Not only would I never come back and not recommend it to anyone else, because of this place I would never allow myself to be put in a position of going into any rehab/nursing home again. They care nothing about the patients staying there. I chose this place to go after surgery because I had read that it is the "best in NW Ohio" for after surgery, in-patient rehab care. If this is the best, I shudder to think what the worst would be. The "rehab" I received was so sub-par that when I was discharged, prior to being ready, I was unable to care for myself in any way and had to have my DIL come and sleep in my bed while I slept in my chair because I couldn't get into my bed due to the poor rehab I'd received. Their "diabetic meal options" include giving desert, pasta, and other unhealthy foods to every patient every day. Healthier options are unavailable. I finally had to have food brought in for me by a family member. While I was there I attempted to address these issues and more with the administration. They either claimed they were working on the issues while continuing to do the same things, sympathized with and said they couldn't help because it was "just policy", or in the case of a horrible situation where I was terrorized by a nurse and then continually harassed by a physical therapist regarding the situation, admitted it was wrong and then victimized by this very place. After having severe nightmares because of this place, I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was strongly recommended that I have a second surgery, but because of this experience, that has become impossible, because I would definitely have to go into rehab again afterwards. I couldn't do that again under any circumstances.

I recently had my second hip replacement, July 2024; my first surgery was performed last December, 2023. For the first replacement I entered a rehab facility whose reputation was unbeknownst to me although its name was well known in the community. For the entire month that included Christmas I was situated in an area dedicated to patients with Alzheimer's dementia. Although the staff there was friendly it lacked the attention and responsiveness I received the last 2 weeks while at ESC. Expecting to receive similar care that I experienced the first time around, I was frankly shocked to the attention and compassion shown to me around the clock - 24/7 - at ESC. The service and professionalism exhibited was top notch. From the nursing staff and their aides constantly monitoring my vital signs; to the therapists who pushed me and the young ladies who distributed snacks throughout the day; to the maintenance staff constantly making sure the hallways were kept spotless, I could not have asked for better care nor a better place where to do my rehab. I am not anticipating another surgery but if one were to come again, there is no question which rehab center will be my first choice - Elizabeth Scott Community Center .

My grandma was at Elizabeth Scott. She was treated with disrespect. When I explained to the kitchen worker. She cannot eat chicken. He had an attitude. Then came back with a plate of food and just dropped it in front of her. They had her sitting in the table alone, staring at a wall while everybody else had someone to sit with. when I arrived one day, she was still in a poopy diaper. The owners gave me a hard time getting her released into my care. I explained to them that I have ohioans come, my sister and I will be here full-time. They made me feel like the only thing they wanted was her assets. I even set up an appointment in order to learn now to do her physical therapy. when I arrive for the appointment, they already took her down with physical therapy. They said they forgot I was coming.
