I want to start by saying my positives. When walking in you are greeted by a super sweet person, Toya. I could leave there after my visit and be so incredibly upset or angry but she always managed to make me smile on my way out. Ashley, who fortunately for her left for another job, was amazingly helpful. And the PT department was amazing. Now the bad. The nurses are extremely rude and lazy. My mother was very alert and oriented, she was only a patient there for PT, so she was very aware of the care she was not given. She was given another patients medicine, even after asking the nurse about the coloring of one of the pills. The nurse told her it was the same thing. Turned out it was not. She was disoriented all day and later got very sick. The protocol was not met, I was not notified. I became aware over 8 hours later when I went to visit and noticed she was extremely lethargic. The admin and DON came in to talk to us and just made excuses. Luckily my mom was better the next day, but with her allergies this could have killed her. The staffing is awful and the staff that was there was not helpful at all. My mom would push her call button to use the restroom and it would take them an hour or more to come help. There were times she would text me and I would have to call the nurses station to get someone down there so that my mom could use the restroom. If you care at all about your family, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. Don't let the pretty facility fool you. I was there everyday. The patients that did not have family there to advocate for them were constantly yelling for help and the aides and nurses would just laugh at them. Very sad.
Ashley Dittmer excels at her position. We have worked together in finding families their place in our assisted living community. Barberton Pointe Senior Living that is located at 487 Austin Drive, Barberton. When our residents may need skilled due or families ask GV is where we send our families and residents. Kaye R. Also does a great job in admissions! Blessed to be working with these two ladies for a common purpose!
Thank you to all of the staff for a job well done. Your compassion for my care is unparalleled. God bless
I appreciate everything you all have done for me. Everyone was very nice residents and staff. Also, the facility is very clean. All the cooking is very good and I really appreciate everything you all have done for me while while I was getting back on my feet after my accident.
Nurses are rude and administration will not help. Calling residents stinky and treating them with disrespect is wrong. Why is being kind and caring hard for individuals taking care of others? Giving showers and basic care is being humane to others who cannot or have a hard time caring for themselves.
This nursing home has been a great experience overall. My sister's recovery journey has been a long one. From dealing with money, to terrible facilities, and insurance issues it's been hard trying to find a place where I truly felt she would be looked after and cared for. But then we came here. My sister was able to thrive and be comfortable as she gets the aid she needs. As an involved family member, I often do check ins with her to make sure she's being well taken care of and the reviews from her are always glowing. The administration especially deserves recognition. If you know anything about long term care facilities then you know how God awful and poorly staffed these places can be. But man, this place was a breeze. They were so patient with me and my sister and the kindness the administration and nurses showed us will always be remembered. These people were helpful and really understand how to take care of people like my sister. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nursing home .
Our family cannot say enough about Green Village and the incredible team there. My dad stayed at Green Village on multiple occasions, and his most recent stay, which ultimately became his final one, left a lasting impression on our hearts. During a very challenging season for our family, they helped make it less overwhelming. When there was no clear path forward, they guided us with steady communication, encouragement, and practical support. We never felt like we were navigating it alone. Jen Ohmer was instrumental in helping us navigate the Medicaid application process for potential long-term placement. That process can feel daunting, but she facilitated for us with patience, and genuine support every step of the way. Ashley Dittmer, the facility social worker, was an incredible advocate for our family. She genuinely cared, not just about paperwork or placement, but about our dad's well being and safety, and about us as we navigated some difficult dynamics. Michelle Lassiter, the administrator, sets a tone of compassion and professionalism that is clearly reflected throughout the facility. The nursing staff overall was wonderful. When I expressed concern that my dad might be developing pneumonia, Yvonne listened without defensiveness and immediately spoke with the doctor, leading to a chest X-ray being ordered. I never felt dismissed. Morgan and others consistently went above and beyond with attentiveness and kindness. They listened and they stepped into action. When my dad’s condition progressed to the point where Green Village could no longer provide the level of care he required, they made the appropriate decision to send him to the hospital. We appreciated their attentiveness and clinical judgment in recognizing when he needed a higher level of care. The facility itself was always very clean and well maintained. In comparison to many nursing homes and rehab centers, it is very nice. My dad had his own room, which made a meaningful difference in comfort and dignity. It’s not a hotel, but it is leaps ahead of many facilities, and we felt confident in the environment he was in. I was also impressed by the life and joy they brought into the building — from a 90-year-old Elvis impersonator to a luau-themed party. At Christmas, Santa and the Grinch came. Every resident received a thoughtful gift in a gift bag, including my dad. Those gestures spoke volumes about the heart of the team. Caring for others in this season of life can be a thankless profession. We are deeply grateful for the people at Green Village who poured themselves into their work and into our father’s care. They helped us navigate the most difficult waters with compassion, dignity, and heart. We will always be thankful for the role they played in his final chapter and if I had to do it again, I would entrust them with the care of a family member.
My Great Grandmother stayed at this Nursing Home for 2 weeks and it was the worst experience for both her and our family. She was treated HORRIBLY, She would call for help and nobody would show up for hours on end and when they did attend to her they did nothing. The most striking part of all of this was after was when one of the workers picked up my Great Grandmother and THREW HER ON TO THE DIRTY BATHROOM FLOOR. Keep in mind she is a 91 year old woman. She was left in her own urine in her bedroom for hours on end due to nobody helping her to the bathroom and was treated extremely poorly. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS TO SUFFER.
