If I could leave a zero review, I would. Chardon Woods is disgusting. It is rundown and it is filthy. Doctors orders for daily bandage changes were ignored. There was no soap in the bathroom. I asked for two blankets for my husband because he was freezing cold and I was told that I could have one. One nurse spoke to me in a very snippy, sarcastic tone over the phone. This place is horrible. Do not send your loved one there.
Chardon woods has a group of the most caring nursing staff I’ve ever seen. The nursing staff had a cook out for the residents to help them celebrate summer starting ! There isn’t anything the staff would not do to make sure the residents are enjoying themselves and to see them smile!
I’ve had the opportunity to see the incredible transformation at Chardon Woods over the past year. While many people remember this community as Heather Hill, the changes have been remarkable. What stands out most is the dedicated team. Many of the long-time staff have remained because they truly care about the residents, and it shows in the compassion and consistency they provide every day. The community itself has also come a long way. From a new roof and parking lot improvements to renovated resident living areas and countless behind-the-scenes upgrades, it’s clear there has been a…

What stands out most is the dedicated team. The community itself has also come a long way. From a new roof and parking lot improvements to renovated resident living areas and countless behind-the-scenes upgrades, it’s clear there has been a significant investment in creating a better environment for residents, care team members, and families. If you’re looking for a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or long-term care community in Chardon, I encourage you to take a fresh look at Chardon Woods. The team is committed to improving every day, and the progress they’ve made is impressive.
Phenomenal respiratory care and ventilator program that truly save peoples lives. The building is older but clean.
The site looks like an overgrown wasteland. You're greeted with nasty potholes everywhere, then you see a lack of maintenance or landscaping for what seems like years, then failing conditions, like no ac for our mom when it was almost 90, residents were suffering and nurse station has ac setup. Blinds fall off the windows leaving privacy issues, the list goes on and on. I wouldn't place anyone I care for in this place, unless I wanted them to struggle.
GREAT STAFF, BUT- If you own this property you should be ashamed of yourself!!! I will be reporting this property to the health department. The good: I encountered some very nice staff, and one kind nurse provided her own fan off her desk to help a overheating patient due to cheap owners having AC disabled in the rooms and the entire building. The bad: I found many violations in plain sight: 1: patient room was 79 degrees with thermostat disabled, absolutely inhumane on a 90 plus degree day 2: mold covering ceiling in mens public bathroom 3: both elevators licenses were expired 4: leaking ceiling on 2nd floor causing WET FLOOR FOR PATIENTS TO FALL ON 5: Various broken windows 6: severe lack of maintenance throughout Property owners and those responsible: It is absolutely appalling to operate any facility of such conditions, especially one to help injured or the elderly recover. It is clear that all you care about is making billions off of neglecting to care for your employees and patients. I would start managing your facility better immediately. I am sure the Ohio health department will not appreciate this.
Chardon wood used to be part of Heather hill.I guess it's still is but,,, there has been no upkeep or updating very sad.
If you love your family, do not send them to this hell hole. My dad was sent there for therapy, very rarely was gotten out of bed. Was supposed to have a hospital bed ordered and ready for him when he got home. Bed was never ordered and my dad got to spend his final 7 days laying in a recliner. Their response...."oops, it never got ordered" if I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible horrible place that should be CLOSED!
