Thankfully my grandmother was only here for a little over a week for physical therapy. I was able to visit her almost everyday. Each time she was soaked with urine, while the aids were playing on their phones at the nurses station. Each of those times, I became the aide and cleaned her up and changed her clothes. Within the 9-10 days she was there, I changed her bed myself on 2 different occasions because she had soiled the bed the night before. They still decided to make her bed that morning even though the sheets were soiled. Several times I had to ask for new pads for her bed because instead of them walking 30-40 feet to get her news ones, they folded the soiled one in half to continue to let her lay in it. Multiple visits I visited with her, I noticed the aides would leave her soiled clothes on her counter she had in her room, 3 feet away from her bed. One of the times they put her soiled clothes back in her closet with her clean clothes making her room and closet smell of urine. Due to her sitting in urine for multiple days in a row, her bottom has become blistered and has open soars. Which I had warned them about when she was admitted and asked them to please keep an eye out for this issue so she would not have broken skin. On the day of her discharge I had called at 8:30am to let them know what time I would be picking her up so she would be ready with her things to come back home. The front desk receptionist acted like she was completely unsure how to relay that message to anyone. Said everyone was on the floor working and she couldn’t get a message to them. Indicating her job is absolutely pointless. When I arrived she of course was not ready to go, hence the reason I called in the first place. While two aides were at the nurse station yet again playing on their phones, she laid in her bed completely soaked through two depends and her pants she had on. She had told me the aides told her to wait, that they didn’t want her to get up yet. I’m glad they were enjoying their phones and Starbucks while she sat soaked and waited for them to help her. At this point I was done. I asked the nurse if she needed my grandmother to sign anything, which she did. I ended up signing for her as her POA so we could get out of there. By this time, the nurse knew I was frustrated. Asked me if there was a problem. I of course told her the issue. She said she was unaware. Then proceeded to follow me into grandmothers room to quickly turn around, never saying another word. No one helped gather her belongings or help us out the door. Half of her clothes are still missing. This is not her first time in a rehab facility. However, this is beyond the worst one we have ever dealt with. The lack of empathy, compassion, and care at this facility is unmatched. They should absolutely be ashamed of themselves. I was an aide for many years in my early 20s. I know the struggles and challenges. I am now a manager of 20-30 aides who take care of someone’s loved ones every single day. I would be embarrassed, disappointed, angry, and disgusted if the staff I manage treated those people the way my grandmother and I’m sure others in this facility was treated. I can promise we will never be back.

Definitely don’t recommend!!! staff talk bad about the residents on some halls and don’t know how to communicate, mean to the residents when they walk in there room. Place is very clean but the staff are horrible to the people in there

I was visiting a friend at New Dawn and was impressed. A very clean and beautiful place and very friendly people

DO NOT THINK ABOUT PUTTING A FAMILY MEMBER HERE!!!!!! we regret putting my grandma her but it stinks and there’s always calls going off and no one‘s ever attending to any other residents. They just silence the call and sit at the nurses station. Horrible care i feel bad for anyone that lives there these nurses ,nurses aids don’t deserve to be nurses, nurses aids🤷🏻‍♀️🫩 if I could buy 0 stars i would!!!!

Highly DO NOT recommend!! Not for your loved ones to stay and not for employment purposes!! VERY rude staff and especially the management , including to the employees who make less and talking about residents with one another. Workers are not made to keep their areas clean at all. The whole place is overly unorganized all the way around. Zero stars.

My mom was admitted in March . She was sent over from Union hospital and they almost killed my mom 3x . They are not equipped to deal with people with breathing problems or machines. They tried to lie to me and my sister and if I had not went there at almost 1:00 am my mother wouldn't be here today, when I walked into her room and found her with oxygen levels at 54 that night nurse lied to us when we called to check on her . That's a horrible place to be . I would also sit there the entire day and not see 1 nurse come to check on her or my mom's roommate. The only person who came in the room dropped of some nasty looking food and that was it.

Kind, friendly staff. Helpful and supportive also.

Staff was informative, respectful, and helpful today.
