In my experience, many staff members were polite to people's faces but would later speak negatively about residents and coworkers behind their backs. That behavior created an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. The culinary department was especially unfriendly at times. A simple misunderstanding seemed to lead to gossip and being treated poorly rather than having the issue addressed respectfully. I also observed similar behavior from some nursing staff. I would not recommend coming here for treatment. In my experience, many staff members were polite to people's faces but would later speak negatively about residents and coworkers behind their backs. That behavior created an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. The culinary department was especially unfriendly at times. A simple misunderstanding seemed to lead to gossip and being treated poorly rather than having the issue addressed respectfully. I also observed similar behavior from some nursing staff. They often appeared friendly when supervisors were present, but their attitude would change afterward, including side glances and negative comments. Overall, I feel sorry for the residents. As a family member of someone who has received care here, it was upsetting to witness this kind of environment around my loved one. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility.
My mother-in-law spent approximately 2 weeks at Otterbein in Lebanon for rehab. The staff was wonderful! They helped her reach her goals so she could return home. Highly recommend.
Don’t send anyone you love here. They neglect patients and are very rude. The higher the level of care, the worse level of care your loved one will receive. Some of the nurses in full-term care are very rude and lazy (I say so because literally every time we showed up the nurses were not working, but were usually sitting on the couch watching tv or standing around talking and had not even visited my loved one for hours). Honestly, I wouldn’t send even a bad dog here for care.

Our Mom was recently admitted to Otterbein long term care in February of 2026. She has cognitive problems and requires a lot of assistance. We have been so pleasantly surprised by the quality of care. The entire staff is wonderful. Everyone we’ve met has been friendly, compassionate and very capable. We have had most contact with her nursing assistant Vanessa, nurses Christina and Sandra, social worker Heather, director of nursing Dana and activities director Mimi. All these ladies have been totally awesome in caring for Mom and helping us get her settled. We could not have asked for a warmer welcome. Otterbein Lebanon seems very geared toward improving the quality of life for their residents. They have fun activities planned throughout the day. They have plenty of opportunities for worship activities if residents want that. We have been with Mom for multiple meals and the food looks and smells appetizing. Everyone tries so hard to make life better for your loved one. It really is an inspiring place to experience. Our thanks to the staff ,and there are some we haven’t met yet, for enriching the lives of their residents and obviously doing God’s work.

My grandpa was here from May of 2025 until Christmas day. My family and him were very pleased with the care that was provided by the Otterbein team. The facility was always very clean. TT & all of the staff were very friendly. We also appreciated all of the activities and events they had to keep them busy. Thank you! - The Creech Family
As both an Otterbein partner AND as someone whose father was a patient at Otterbein of Lebanon, it is an excellent facility. The staff are caring, compassionate, and just all around first class. The facility is top notch, with a lot of great amenities. Dad was really happy here and I was really happy to have him here.
I can’t say enough about Otterbein! The community is warm and welcoming, and the staff truly go above and beyond to treat elders with respect and dignity. The entire team provides outstanding support and truly focuses on quality of life, which makes such a difference. I’m so grateful for the compassion and professionalism shown every day.
