3.5 · 24 reviewsThe memory care facility is adquate but needs more staff. The staff that was there were very kind and tried their best but more staff is needed. There were some moments, when patients needed individualized care, there was just not enough people to help. This facility is first and foremost for memory care. They didnt have enough staff to help with comorbidity's. The menu needed to be more senior friendly, cutting food can be a challenge. I did feel my parent did not have adequate care. The tried but not enough.
I would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Ridge of Copley They were kind and compassionate and loved our mom
Great community with amazing atmosphere. Have done volunteer work here and residents always seem happy and engaged.

This place is horrible! Many times we visited and our loved one was not given meds. They claim she taken them but later found them in her room. Place smells like urine. They were not assisting her with meals. Proper health and wellness either. Being in a memory care center, you would think they would assist in every day care. Nope not this place. Every time we mention our concerns they were very rude and disrespectful to us and our loved one. Did I mention some of the other residents were also not being attended to. One person was running around naked, another was running his wheel chair into the wall, whilei passing a patient he had fallen and just was lying on the ground. It was along time before we got help. Please don't send anyone to this place.
Grandmother was in their care. And let me tell you how disappointed I am with this place. She was in good health before going here; now she is under weight. She is so much happier to be at home. This lucky we can’t leave a no star review.
Formerly Greenfield Estates, now operating as The Ridge at Copley, located at 3522 Commercial Drive, Akron, OH 44333. Our experience with this facility was deeply troubling. It took nearly six months and thousands of dollars in legal fees to obtain custody of my 86-year-old mother and remove her from this facility. The administration refused to accept my properly executed Power of Attorney documents and initially refused to release prescriptions that my mother had personally paid for out of pocket. With assistance from her primary care physician and local pharmacy, we were able to secure her medications the following day. I also received visitations from local Police Department and Adult Protective Services, both were more than satisfied with my mothers state of mind and her new surroundings. The facility appeared consistently understaffed. Residents were frequently grouped together before and after meals with limited supervision. I personally witnessed residents wandering into other residents’ rooms without staff intervention. Hygiene and medical oversight were significant concerns. My mother experienced recurring urinary tract infections during her stay. There was no documented follow-up after her most recent infection. After removing her, her primary care physician confirmed the infection was still active and initiated proper treatment. She is now improving and scheduled for follow-up testing. My mother was prescribed risperidone by a nurse practitioner during her stay. Her primary care physician immediately discontinued the medication upon review. We were not provided with a clear explanation as to why it had been prescribed. We repeatedly raised concerns about medication administration. On more than one occasion, I found her pills left in a cup near her chair after being told she had taken them. When questioned, staff responses were inconsistent and often shifted responsibility between shifts. Hydration was another concern. A water dispenser was placed in a common area, but cups were not consistently available, and many residents did not appear capable of independently accessing water. During visits, I personally observed residents sitting or lying on the floor without immediate staff response, and one resident in a geriatric chair repeatedly asking for shoes without assistance. Since removing my mother from this facility, she has improved significantly with proper medical follow-up, hydration, and attentive care. Her anxiety medications have been reduced under physician supervision, and her overall condition has stabilized. I have also reported to Google that at least one of the 5 star reviews are from a current employee. Families considering this facility should carefully evaluate staffing levels, medication oversight, hygiene practices, and resident supervision before making placement decisions. The 5 star reviews are very likely employees. I can certainly prove that at least one review is an Emplyee and Google has been notified. Don’t listen to the most recent reviews, contact me, no lies here and FACT employees are reviewing. I warned you 🥳
Be cautious of negative reviews posted about The Ridge at Copley, especially the recent ones. These have been posted without significant context by people who are less that trustworthy. Interview and judge for yourself. The Ridge at Copley specializes in helping residents with advanced dementia issues. Symptoms exhibited by these residents are severe, and the challenge that the staff at The Ridge at Copley face is significant. I would like to offer my special thanks to Pam, Leonna, Katie, Jenny, Jessica, Whitney, Mike, and all of the others whose names I have forgotten, for their admirable effort in looking after my mom. Not many people can do what you do.
Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff for the care, compassion, and dignity shown to our dad during his time here. Trusting others to care for someone you love is never easy, but the kindness and patience shown by the team gave us comfort and peace of mind. The staff treated our dad with respect, gentleness, and understanding, and we truly appreciate the way they cared not only for his physical needs but also for his emotional well-being. In memory care, the small moments matter, and those moments did not go unnoticed by our family. Knowing he was surrounded by people who genuinely cared meant a great deal to us. We are grateful for the work, dedication, and compassion shown every day, and we want the staff to know their efforts made a difference for our family
