I cannot begin to explain the peace that this team at Wyngate gave me when I entered my parents into respite care for a couple of weeks. My dad has had two strokes and is limited with his ability to help my mom who has had some falls and some medical limitations. Wyngate made us feel at home and able to rest for the first time in a long time. Being four hours away I had constant communication with Myra, Kendra, and Sabrina: I could t have felt more connected to what was happening with my parents each day. These ladies. If you or your loved ones need some rest and care, please go see them! What an incredible experience. Jodi Miller-Hartle
Obviously we were apprehensive about moving my father out of his house, but Wyngate has become his “home”, as he even calls it that now. He has expressed that everyone knows him and calls him by name which makes him feel like he belongs, and not like a visitor. I appreciate the personalized care he is given and the efforts to recognize his personality and gifts so he can feel useful as well.
The staff was very friendly, and helpful. They treated granny as one of their own family members. They had open communication and called me with any questions, or update or change in care.
I am really appreciative of the Wyngate. I pray that they are protected and favored to continue their work. I would recommend to others and I have, though it is above financial ability of many in our circle.
Corporate is seeking new management team. Nurses don't necessarily make good managers. Some of the help has moved to other places. Wages are still low and the hours are long. A cook would be a good fit to start. Staff is taking care of too many residents and several residents should be in a hospital. Hospice care is available to residents though.
Only complaint about Wyngate Senior Living Community is the food/mealtime. The food quality is not great, and the service is slow. Offerings are also limited.
My family had to make a decision to place my mother in an assisted living facility with 3 days notice. We looked at several places in Lima and decided upon Wyngate because of the kindness and caring of all of the staff. After moving my mom in we are so grateful for the kindness of the current community members for going out of their way to make my mom feel included in the community.
The staff is very friendly. The only thing my mother complains about is they come into the room very early to do their wellness checks, but the nurses are very friendly also. I would definitely recommend the facility, mom and dad have a dog and that's one of the few places Around that will take pets
