My uncle was admitted to the SNF for rehab and physical therapy amongst other issues. If I could I would give no stars. The administration of this facility should be ashamed of themselves, and the way they allow this SNF to run. It is clear your real priority is the money you rake in off the backs of the elderly. The staff hired is clearly miserable and could care less if people need assistance. The call bell is going off constantly and it is not for "different" rooms as they try to say. They IGNORE people in need of assistance while they stand around laughing, socializing putting on makeup…

They IGNORE people in need of assistance while they stand around laughing, socializing putting on makeup and smoking outside at this "smoke free facility" We waited hours after his admit for someone to come in and assess him/greet him give us some information, and NO ONE ever came in after getting paperwork signed. Never checked on him the entire night, and then lied to our face the next day when we asked why no one helped him get into bed, go to the bathroom or provide him with needed wound care. The truth is no one is in charge, everyone is passing the buck and no one cares including the owners and administrators. Stay far away if you care at all for your loved ones.

The skilled nursing rehab is possibly the worst medical facility I have ever encountered. I wish I could leave a negative 5 star review. In less than one week of having my mother there, she has been denied basic care on multiple occasions and this morning she fell attempting to make it to the restroom by herself. This fall resulted in a gash on her leg. The staff is rude, uncaring, and unresponsive. Friday night she was nauseated and dry heaving and had hit her call button multiple times to request zofran. In TWO HOURS no one came into the room. I was on the phone with her when a nursing assistant walked in and was rude, didn’t ask what she needed, said they were short staffed and walked out of the room speaking to another staff member, laughing. This is not only patient neglect, this is cruelty. To not even ask what my mother needed or what was wrong and then to mock her and laugh. I will be moving heaven and earth to transfer my mother to a different facility as soon as possible. Do not entrust this place with your loved one. I will be filing complaints with the Ohio Department of Health and CMS for patient neglect. I worked in healthcare for 10 years and never once encountered this level of unprofessional behavior and lack of compassion for patients. Truly awful to have an ill parent and know they are not being properly cared for.

My mother enjoyed her time in independent living at Brookdale Westlake Village. The staff has been extremely kind and helpful, including billing, food service, housekeeping, maintenance, and the front desk staff. The food was usually excellent and there are many quality activities to choose from. There is a warm and familial feeling throughout the Brookdale Village independent living. We also appreciate the flexibility of the supportive Brookdale At Home staff who were imperative In keeping my mother living independently. I highly recommend it.

OVERPRICED & UNDERSTAFFED. Independent living roof is falling apart after spring storms. Do not take your family here for therapy or long term care. Short staffed filled with agency nursing or Nursing Supervisors working down as an aide with high patient care ratios. High schoolers in the kitchen serving mediocre food. Self pay is $700 a day at the minimum. Administration does no hands on care all office. No community involvement. Illegal use of Mechanical lifts in assistant living by non tested caretakers. Recent bed bug and scabies cases. For the same cost check out Vitalia & Avenue Strongsville.

I am giving this place a one star. My boyfriend picked up at this facility on agency as a nurse and was racially profiled asked to be sent home for going to get his scrub top. I would not recommend sending your family here of color or anyone actually.

Bed bugs!!! They try to hide it by replacing carpet. Everyone is scratching and itching!

My wife’s aunt was at this facility for approximately 6 weeks. Each time I would visit, there was something that I had to bring to their attention. The aides for the most part were rude and acted as though being there was an issue to them and it showed in the care my wife’s aunt received. During her stay, she had a bed problem that left her sleeping with her feet up in the air above her head the entire night. One other time, she asked for assistance getting in bed, they helped to the bed and left her sitting on the edge and said they would be back, she overheard an aide telling another, ‘she just wants you to go in there and help her get her legs up into bed’, it took about four hours before someone came to help her. When asked to replace the sanitizer in here room, the nurse said that it wasn’t her responsibility and that it was the responsibility of housekeeping, one week and a half later when she was discharged, the sanitizer was still empty but when aides came and went, they would act as if they were using it. Lastly, upon her being discharged, there were three aides standing around in the hallway and no one offered to help her to the car and upon leaving the facility, she tripped on a mat outside the door and fell, broke a bone in her face, and was left with a laceration that required stitches. The aides grabbed her by the arms to lift her up without assessing her for any injuries which left her with bruises all over her arms. She was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Department and is now in the ICU. She had internal bleeding in her leg among other injuries. A representative from Brookdale Sue Noll (sp?) and all she did was make excuses for everything that was brought to her attention. Saying that they need to know of issues in real time and that the next time she has any issues let them be known immediately. Needless to say, she will not be going back to this facility and we don’t recommend it to anyone else. Please read the reviews.
