Dogwood Commons

I've moved to Dogwood Commons, a 55-and-over community. I went with it because of its neighborhood and area. I like that it's a one-story apartment and it has an attached garage. My apartment is a 1-bedroom with an office, and it's 1200 square feet. The staff members are very good people and very knowledgeable. It's independent living, so we prepare our own food. For activities, we play Euchre and walk every day within the community.

I toured Dogwood Commons. It was laid out well. It looked like a good interim step where you've got a big house, maybe 2200 square feet, and you're going back to 1500, but it had not only two bedrooms but also two bedrooms and a den. It had all the appliances except a washer and dryer. It had a two-car garage. The staff was friendly and forthright. The building is brand new, very modern, and nice.

It is a little pricey but everything else is. The people here are very nice the staff and the residents. It is independent living so there is no meals.We were down to the wire and everything else had a waiting list. This was brand new and we've never had brand new we've always owned our own home but it's always been somebody else's first. This place was very accommodating and the rooms were large good cupboard space and two and a half baths.
