My grandfather was placed here as a rehabilitation center after a bad fall. I would reconsider placing your loved one here if you are able to... The nurses are very understaffed, and you can tell they are overworked. We have waited over an hour for help before, even with me finding nurses to remind them my grandfather needs assistance. My grandfather had been let to sit in his soiled diaper for hours on end, one stretch lasting 15 hours from dinner time to the morning. His dinner plate was not even cleared, leading us to believe he was not checked on for those 15 hours. I am sure these nurses…

I am sure these nurses are not getting paid what they should, but there is no organization which has lead us to a lot of confusion and frustration.
My mother is a patient there. This facility hires a lot of agency staff. No report given on each shift they are working with “blinders on” Left my mother on bedpan for an hour or so left her laying in the bed for several hours. This facility charges 400.00 a day per patient this facility per the agency worker complaints “….,do not treat/pay worker rightly”

Please note: this is only a review for the rehab/skilled nursing section of Eliza at Chagrin; our family did not have experience with assisted living or memory care, and those may be quite different. My 90 yr. old mother-in-law was in rehab there for three weeks, until Medicare stopped covering. The landscaped grounds are quite lovely - I saw wild turkeys roaming - while the rooms are fairly plain and the furniture slightly worn. The facility is clean and looks to have a nice library area, dining room and patio. Staff seemed stretched, and staff social worker was surprised when I mentioned my mother-in-law hadn't had a family care meeting which they said was to be scheduled within a week of admission. It was finally held 2 1/2 weeks later, and was essentially a discharge meeting. My MIL got PT and OT 5 days a week, and sometimes even on the weekend, which was very helpful for her. The biggest disappointment was that my MIL was not given a bed bath or any such basic hygiene for three whole weeks, likely due to staffing issues. After pressing them, they finally gave her one the day of discharge, and told her, "now you can tell your family you had a bath".
I am a caregiver ( for an agency not eliza) and have been for over 4 years. I have been to numerous facilities and this one by far is the best. Almost everyone is so nice and has a smile on their face when I walk the halls. Mary the front desk manager is amazing and helps make my job easier in lots of ways. If my grandmother was still here I would want her to stay here. Thank you for being a great and trusting facility!
We checked on them. The assisted living area there was smaller than the other facility. The rooms were very nice. They didn't have a shop or a deli there. Food-wise, they're about the same as with the other facility.
