I just wanted to give a shout out to Good Shepherd’s staff. I’ve participated in a few activities at Good Shepherd and was extremely impressed on the care and love they give each of the residents. The residents were smiling, laughing, excited to be involved with such a fun environment. I left there with love in my heart and proud of the way Good Shepherd treats staff and residents! Keep up the good work!!
I had went there 2 times to hand out roses and everytime i felt welcome. Michelle is an amazing activities director with great passion. Good shepherd is blessed to have her aside them.
My mom was in this nursing home for 2 weeks. The staff did an amazing job at keeping her comfortable until she came back home. Shana and Jean are amazing nurses. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Thanks again for the care and respect of taking care of loved ones.
Went to see my uncle today. The place smells clean and look clean. Alot of friendly staff. There was a stna i think her name was Rosa. She amazing and always smiling. The house keeper daisy always willing to help anyone out.
I deliver frequently to residents of this facility. Each time it takes an average of 5 minutes for somebody to open the door and when they finally do open the door they're rude. The way that I have seen residents treated is absolutely ridiculous. A resident asked me to get a nurse that he had been hitting his call button for the last 2 hours and nobody would come. I approached one of the workers and was ignored. Upon leaving the alarm on the door went off in the young lady who came over to turn the alarm off was rude as hell and rolled her eyes.
I have not been to this facility in person, but see all of their adventures online. The residents look so happy to be doing all the different activities that the activities director plans for them. I’m so happy that someone has taken such a great interest in their wellbeing. She really cares about each and every one of the residents. It is definitely her calling. Awesome job. 💜
Update: I now have members of staff contacting me via their personal cell phones to harass me. I never gave this facility my phone number so they must have bullied it out of my grandmother. If you have any sort of choice do not send your loved one to this facility. From what I have seen it is comparable to prison for old people. They are so overpopulated and understaffed that your loved one will not get the help or care that they need and instead will be laying in their own excrement, confined to their bed. My grandmother was sent to this facility after breaking her hip and having surgery, ouch. When I went to visit her she had been told she wasn't allowed to get out of her bed and if she needed anything to call. She is supposed to be up and moving each day of her care even if just a little bit to allow that hip to heal properly. But instead was told she wasn't allowed to leave her bed while they let her to lay in her pee for who knows how long while complaining each time they had to help her change after having an accident when nobody would come to help her to the bathroom. When I confronted her nurse asking why she hasn't been let up and why nobody was helping her I was met with attitude and given no reasoning or answers as to why just complaints about the understaffing situation. Each room has two patients in it with the rooms barely being large enough to fit two beds, it is not made for visitors at all and the entire facility reeks of pee. For every four patients they share one bathroom that barely has enough room to stand in. The food is comparable to that of prison food. There is only one night nurse and that tells you all you really need to know about that. They are so understaffed that there is nobody there to keep them in check on how they should be treating the patients, they treat them like garbage because there is nobody there to make sure they aren't. We are looking into transferring my grandmother somewhere else and boy are they not happy about it. Since inquiring about a transfer they have been withholding my grandma's pain meds and being exceptionally rough with her all while trying to convince her not to leave. It is abuse. When I call the staff is always rude and unhelpful. If you learn anything from this review learn that I wouldn't send my worst enemy here, it is desolate and sad in that place. I just pray the stress of it all doesnt send my grandma into an early grave.
